James Madison University senior Václav Tichý was named to the Third Team All-Sun Belt Conference on May 5, as the Sun Belt Conference announced its postseason awards for the 2025-26 season.

This recognition highlights Tichý’s performance throughout the season, where he led his team with a stroke average of 71.63 over 30 rounds. His average placed him among conference leaders and reflected consistent play during the year.

Tichý, who is from Prague in the Czech Republic, achieved six top-25 finishes and four top-10 placements this season. His best result was a tie for fourth at the Sam Ryder Intercollegiate. He also recorded 15 rounds at par or better and had five rounds in the 60s, with his lowest round being a five-under-par score of 65 at the JT Poston Invitational.

Over his collegiate career, Tichý became one of James Madison’s most decorated golfers. He tied for the program record in eagles with twelve and ranked third in career stroke average at 72.41. He finished fourth all-time in both par or better rounds (50) and total rounds played (122), as well as birdies (399). Additionally, he set JMU’s single-round low score by shooting an eight-under-par round of 62 during the second round of last season’s JT Poston Intercollegiate.

Tichý concluded his time at James Madison with twenty top-25 finishes overall, thirteen top-10 results, and eight finishes inside the top five.
