Weather permitting, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close Route 628, known as Tranquility Lane, between Bobcat Road (Route 689) and White Oak Road (Route 613) in Dinwiddie County for road improvements. The closures are scheduled to occur daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., starting Monday, July 21, through Friday, July 25.

Homeowners will still have access to their properties during these operations.

Motorists are advised to follow the posted detours:

For northbound traffic: Travel south on Tranquility Lane, west on White Oak Road, north on Courthouse Road, east on Anderson Mill Road, and then south on Bobcat Road back to Tranquility Lane.

For southbound traffic: Go north on Tranquility Lane, north on Bobcat Road, west on Anderson Mill Road, south on Courthouse Road, and east on White Oak Road back to Tranquility Lane.
