Contractor crews working with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) are set to initiate a temporary traffic shift on Laskin Road at the Linkhorn Bay Bridge in Virginia Beach. This adjustment is part of the ongoing Laskin Road Bridge Replacement and Widening Project.

The changes will begin as early as 7 a.m. on March 1. Eastbound lanes from east of Winwood Drive to Red Robin Road will be redirected onto the newly constructed eastbound bridge over Linkhorn Bay. Meanwhile, westbound lanes will shift left from just west of the Linkhorn Bay bridge to east of Linbay Drive.

This temporary arrangement is expected to last through late spring. It allows crews to work on center median island tasks, including installing light poles and landscaping, widening sidewalks on the westbound side, and setting up drainage structures.

On the day of implementation, single-lane closures will occur between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. along Laskin Road in this area to facilitate safe execution of the new traffic pattern. Access to properties within both traffic shift zones will remain open.

Motorists are advised to adhere to a reduced speed limit of 35 mph while traveling through the work zone. The project schedule may change depending on weather conditions.
