The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced a series of highway works scheduled for the Culpeper District from June 2 to June 6, 2025. These activities, contingent on weather conditions, may result in restricted traffic movements and reduced speed limits within work zones.
In Albemarle County, roadway improvements will lead to alternating lane closures during nighttime hours across several major routes including U.S. 29 (Seminole Trail), U.S. 250 Bypass, and Route 743 (Hydraulic Road). Additionally, pavement marking and tree trimming activities are planned on Interstate 64.
Culpeper County will see soil borings and traffic engineering projects causing lane and shoulder closures along U.S. 29 (Lee Highway) and other routes. Construction work on U.S. 15 (James Madison Highway) is also set to cause nightly disruptions.
In Fauquier County, roadway improvements and paving will result in daily lane closures on U.S. 17 Business (Broadview Avenue) and other key roads. Utility work under VDOT permits will continue to affect several routes with alternating lane closures.
Fluvanna County will experience paving operations on Route 620 (Rolling Road), while Greene County’s utility work will cause temporary lane closures on Routes such as Route 610 (Toms Road).
Louisa County’s Interstate 64 will undergo mowing and tree trimming operations affecting travel lanes and shoulders between mile markers 131 and 148. Paving activities are also scheduled for U.S. 15 (James Madison Highway).
Orange County’s traffic engineering efforts will involve lane closures along U.S. 522 (Zachary Taylor Highway), with additional roundabout construction leading to further disruptions.
Finally, Rappahannock County’s shoulder repairs on U.S. 211 (Lee Highway) will necessitate alternating lane closures managed by flaggers.
