The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has closed the northbound lane of Route 684 (South Page Valley Road) in Page County to carry out slope repairs. The closure is located about three miles north of Route 675 (Bixler’s Ferry Road). Work began on September 15, 2025, and is expected to last for about a month.

During the repairs, traffic will alternate using the single southbound lane. Drivers will be directed by a “stop and proceed when clear” sign. At times, full lane closures may occur during the day and will be managed by flaggers and crews on site. The work schedule is generally weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., but all activities depend on weather conditions.

Motorists are advised to use caution in the area because the slope failure cannot be seen from the road at night.

“Motorists are asked to drive with extreme caution. The slope failure is not visible from the road at night.”
