Virginia men’s squash freshman Juan Irisarri, senior JP Tew, and sophomore Juan Jose Torres Lara were named All-Americans on Apr. 17 in honors announced by the College Squash Association.

All three athletes received second-team recognition after advancing to the round of 16 at the CSA Individual National Championships. The awards highlight their performances during the season and their contributions to the team.

Irisarri earned his first All-America honor this year. He completed the season with an 11-5 record while playing at position one and was also named MASC Men’s Rookie of the Year in March. Tew, who primarily played at position three, received his second consecutive second-team selection after finishing with an 11-7 record for the season.

Torres Lara was recognized as an All-American for the first time following a strong season with a 13-2 record at position two. He was also honored as MASC Men’s Player of the Year in March.

Irisarri and Torres Lara are now among seven players in program history to receive All-America honors. They join previous honorees including three-time first-team member Aly Hussein (2020-23), three-time second-teamer Omar El Torkey (2020-23), second-teamer Taha Dinana (2024), first teamer Karim Elbarbary (2025), and two-time second-teamer JP Tew (2025-26).

The recognition from the College Squash Association reflects both individual achievements and ongoing success within Virginia’s men’s squash program.
