Thirteen members of the Virginia Tech indoor track and field team were named to the 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) All-Academic Team, the conference announced on Apr. 24.
The recognition highlights student-athletes who have excelled both academically and athletically during the indoor season. To qualify for All-ACC Academic honors, athletes must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.0 over the previous two semesters and hold a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 throughout their academic career. Eligible nominees must also be undergraduates enrolled at their institution for at least one year and have competed in either the ACC or NCAA Championships.
Among those honored was Katie Bohlke, who secured bronze in the women’s 3000 meters at ACCs with a time of 8:56.82, earning First Team All-ACC recognition. Bohlke also set a program record in the event with an 8:55 performance at the ASICS Sound Invite, becoming both record holder and first Hokie to break nine minutes in that distance.
Katrin Brzyszkowska won her first ACC title during indoor season with a personal-best throw of 17.00 meters in shot put, capping off what was described as a dominant season by winning nearly every competition entered.
Other honorees included Linus Chepkochei, who posted a personal-best time in the men’s 5K; Ryan Chevalier, who moved into eighth place on Virginia Tech’s all-time top ten list for his performance in the men’s 3000 meters; Dylan DeCambre, who earned First Team All-ACC honors as well as contributing to third-place finish nationally as part of Virginia Tech’s distance medley relay squad; Jack Helmich and Roan Kelly for their performances in pole vaulting and relay events respectively; Nate Paris for earning his second consecutive All-American honor in heptathlon while defending school records; Nick Plant for maintaining his status atop program history books across multiple distances including national-level performances; and Chiara Sistermann for securing her fifth career All-ACC award along with Second Team All-American honors.
The full list also includes Ethan Coleman, Cameron Davis, Sophia Holgado—all recognized not only for athletic achievement but academic excellence throughout their undergraduate careers.
