In Culpeper, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced plans to install temporary pedestrian signal heads at the intersection of U.S. 17 Business (Broadview Avenue) and U.S. 211 (Waterloo Street/Frost Avenue) in Warrenton. This decision comes in response to concerns raised by residents about pedestrian safety.

The installation will be conducted in phases to minimize disruptions while prioritizing safety, particularly for students crossing the streets before and after school hours. These temporary signals are expected to remain until construction in the area is completed, which is anticipated by August.

During this period, pedestrians are advised to exercise extra caution, and drivers should remain vigilant, especially during peak school times. VDOT has expressed gratitude for the community’s feedback and patience throughout this improvement project.
