Surry County announced on Feb. 10 that residents can now sign up online to receive emergency alerts and important public safety notifications directly to their phones, emails, or other devices.
The new service aims to help keep the community informed about severe weather warnings, emergencies, and other time-sensitive updates that may affect safety. Officials encourage residents to register for these alerts in order to stay connected and prepared during critical situations.
Registration is available through the Surry County website under the Emergency Services Department page. The county urges community members to share this information with family, neighbors, and friends who live or work in Surry County so more people can benefit from timely notifications.
