The Sun Belt Men’s Golf Championship’s third round was suspended on April 29 due to darkness. The event, held in Madison, Mississippi, faced multiple weather delays throughout the day.

The suspension occurred after storms caused a delayed start Wednesday morning. Tournament play was first halted for lightning at approximately 1:34 p.m. Eastern Time. Organizers attempted several restarts but were forced into further delays as additional lightning strikes occurred.

Play eventually resumed around 6:50 p.m. Eastern Time but could not be completed before nightfall set in. At the time of suspension, the Monarchs were positioned in 13th place as a team and stood at 25-over par through six holes.

According to tournament officials, round three is scheduled to resume at 8 a.m. Eastern Time on Thursday.

The resumption will allow teams and players an opportunity to complete their rounds under safer and more favorable conditions.
