Radford University announced on Apr. 30 that three members of its men’s golf team have received postseason awards following the conclusion of the 2026 Big South Championship.
The recognition highlights the performances of Louie Stott, CJ Peterson, and Kieran McCarthy during the 2025-26 season. These honors reflect both athletic achievement and academic excellence among Radford’s student-athletes.
Stott was named Honorable Mention All-Conference after leading the Highlanders as a senior. He was the top finisher for his team in four tournaments and recorded his best round at the Carolina Cup with a score of 67, which included five birdies and an eagle on the fifth hole.
Peterson earned All-Freshman honors in his debut season with Radford. He finished sixth out of 55 golfers at the Carolina Cup with a four-over score, earning Freshman of the Week recognition. Later in the season at the ODU/Kilmarlic Intercollegiate, he tied for twenty-fifth place and received another Freshman of the Week award.
McCarthy was selected to the All-Academic Team after strong performances on both course and classroom. In his second year as a Highlander, he posted two top-three finishes early in the season—including second place at Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational—and earned two Golfer of the Week awards. Majoring in Sport Management with a perfect 4.0 GPA, McCarthy also serves as a SAAC representative and is interning with Athletics Compliance and SASS.
