The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) plans to close a portion of Route 677, known as Taylors Creek Road, for a pipe replacement project in Hanover County. The closure will occur between Route 610 (Bethany Church Road) and Route 611 (Dunns Chapel Road). The work is scheduled for Wednesday, April 2, and Thursday, April 3, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., weather permitting.

VDOT assures that homeowners will still be able to access their properties during the closure. Motorists are advised to follow designated detour routes for westbound and eastbound traffic. Westbound drivers should travel west on Route 677, turn right onto Route 610 heading north, then proceed to Route 691 (Canterbury Road) traveling south, and continue to Route 611 heading west before returning to Route 677. For eastbound traffic, motorists should use the reverse sequence, beginning eastward on Route 677, turning left onto Route 611 northeast, followed by Route 691 north, and Route 610 south, leading back to Route 677.

For inquiries about the project, individuals are instructed to contact VDOT’s customer service center at 800-FOR-ROAD (800-367-7623). Current traffic updates will be available through 511Virginia at 511.vdot.virginia.gov and on the 511Virginia app for mobile devices.
