The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced the closure of a section of Route 671, known as Country Club Road, in Mecklenburg County for bridge repairs. The planned roadwork will affect the stretch between Route 600, Draper Road, and Route 660, Old Cox Road. Weather conditions permitting, the repairs are scheduled to start Monday, April 7, with an anticipated completion by early May.
For motorists traveling southbound, a detour has been set up directing them to head north on Country Club Road, take a right on Draper Road, proceed with a turn onto Route 47, known as Highway Forty-Seven, and then another right onto Old Cox Road, before a final right turns back onto Country Club Road.
Similarly, northbound traffic will be rerouted to travel south on Country Club Road, turn left onto Old Cox Road, follow another left onto Route 47, continue with a left turn onto Draper Road, and finally complete a return left turn back onto Country Club Road.
Motorists with questions regarding the roadwork can reach out to VDOT's customer service center at 800-FOR-ROAD (800-367-7623) for assistance.
