The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) plans to close a section of Route 38, also known as Five Forks Road, in Amelia for a pipe replacement project. The closure is scheduled for Thursday, April 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting. This will take place near the address 13200 Five Forks Road.

Homeowners in the area will still have access to their properties during the operation.

For those traveling eastbound on Route 38, the detour involves heading north on Route 627 (Cheathams Road), then east on Route 360 (Patrick Henry Highway), south on Route 153 (Military Road), and finally west back onto Route 38. Westbound traffic should follow a route north on Route 153, west on Route 360, south on Route 627, and then west onto Route 38.

VDOT encourages anyone with questions about the project to contact their customer service center at 800-FOR-ROAD (800-367-7623). Updated traffic information can be accessed through the website at 511.vdot.virginia.gov or via the free mobile app, 511Virginia.
