Robin will be joined on stage by students from Clays Mill Elementary School under the direction of Tim Duncan. The Prizery will host a festival of Christmas Trees and Holiday Artist Gift Shop December 3 - 11. Everyone is invited to visit The Prizery and experience a display of Christmas trees, wreaths, and centerpieces that have been decorated by local individuals and organizations. I’ll Be Home for Christmas is this year’s theme, and trees are decorated in a variety of colors and individual interpretations of the theme. All trees and decor will be open for bids in a silent auction, so if you see a tree you like, you can bid on it.
This event is a fundraiser for The Prizery. All money raised through the silent auction will help The Prizery provide arts programming for the community. People will also have the chance to vote for their favorite tree by making a donation in the corresponding box. Donations can be any amount and the tree with the highest amount will be named the People’s Choice Award and will win a prize. The Festival opens on Saturday, December 3 from 12:00 pm - 7:00 pm and will be open through December 11. Bidding will end at 8:00 pm on December 11.
Prizery Executive Director Melanie Cornelison-Jannotta is excited about community participation. "We have had a wonderful response from individuals and organizations, including multiple entries from Halifax County Public Schools.” In addition to the trees and wreaths on display, multiple artists and vendors will have items for sale. Items that will make wonderful Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers will be available to purchase at a variety of prices. The Prizery receives 30% of the purchase price. It is a wonderful opportunity to support local artists and small businesses.
