Welcoming a new baby can be exciting and intimidating! Ease the transition from pregnancy into parenthood with this stand-alone newborn class.“Your Newborn and the Fourth Trimester” is an updated class that goes beyond changing diapers to prepare you for some of life’s changes during the fourth trimester (birth through three months). The evidence-based curriculum follows newborn development and parent adjustment to help you better understand what to expect as your baby grows and changes from: 

  • Birth to two weeks old
  • Two to six weeks old
  • Six weeks to three months old 
From postpartum healing to realistic expectations for feeding and sleep (and diapers!), this class offers current, practical help and a selection of resources for integrating a new baby into your family. Look forward to the time when you bring your baby home and growing together! “Your Newborn and the Fourth Trimester” class complements Carilion’s “In-Person Childbirth Intensive" class and can be taken separately or as a continuation of learning.____________________________________________________________________________After Registration:

  • You will receive a generic confirmation email from Carilion Clinic (CVENT)
  • Within the week prior to class date, you will receive a personalized email from our childbirth educators providing you with details 
  • That email will give you further details and directions regarding class specifics
This class is $20 standard registration-Free for one Spouse/Partner When: Saturday, November 19, 2022 10 am-12 pm Registration is Required
