Colonial Athletic Association issued the following announcement on Aug. 13
We continue our CAA Football 12 Teams in 12 Days season preview with a look at the William & Mary Tribe.
The Tribe was 1-2 during the spring season despite battling a number of injuries. Returning to lead the offense is quarterback Hollis Mathis, who threw for 976 yards and rushed for 546 yards and 8 TD's as a true freshman in 2019. He will have a strong group of receivers to target with Kane Everson, Zach Burdick, Cole Blackman and tight end Anthony Mague. Redshirt freshman Malachi Imoh averaged 9.2 yards per carry last spring and will run behind a veteran offensive line led by All-CAA selection Andrew Trainer.
Defensively, W&M features an experienced front with Will Kiely, Carl Fowler and Zyquan Bessant. Trey Watkins, who led the Tribe in tackles in 2019, and senior Tyler Crist are back at linebacker. Bronson Yoder set a number of Tribe records as a returner in 2019 and will also contribute in the secondary.
To help us break down the Tribe, we are joined by play-by-play voice Jay Colley, who begins his 40th season calling games at W&M.
Here is a look at the 2021 William & Mary roster and schedule.
