Hampton home prices rise in the first quarter of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2017 in Hampton rose by $5,550 while total sales decreased by 16.6%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2017, there were 499 homes sold, with a median sale price of $135,000 - a 4.3% increase over the $129,450 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 598 homes sold in Hampton in the first quarter of 2016.

The median sales tax in Hampton for the most recent year with available data, 2016, was $1,950, approximately 1.4% of the median home sale price for the first quarter of 2017.
