The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced the completion of the St Louis Road (Route 611) bridge rehabilitation over Goose Creek in Middleburg. The project aimed to enhance safety, provide a smoother driving experience, and extend the bridge’s lifespan. This bridge, originally constructed in 1969, sees an average daily traffic of 3,300 vehicles.

The rehabilitation involved replacing the bridge’s concrete beams with steel beams, installing a new concrete deck, and repairing the bridge piers. Construction started in January 2024 and was funded by federal and state sources, including State of Good Repair funds dedicated to bridges and pavement. The project cost $4.3 million and was completed on time and under budget. Martins Construction from Falls Church served as the construction contractor.
