Beginning at 8 a.m. on Friday, May 16, construction crews will adjust their work zone on the southbound U.S. 17 Business (Broadview Avenue). The area of focus will now extend from Chappell Street to U.S. 211 (Frost Avenue), moving from its previous location between Gold Cup Drive and Roebling Street.

The project involves replacing curbs, sidewalks, and storm drainage structures as part of the ongoing Broadview Avenue improvement initiative. Lanes will remain in place overnight due to safety restrictions that necessitate a minimum distance between construction equipment and public traffic.

Crews are scheduled to work intermittently overnight from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., continuing through Friday, June 27. However, there will be a suspension of work from noon on Friday, May 23 until noon on Tuesday, May 27 for the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Business access will remain open during this period, and drivers are advised to exercise caution around entryways.

“This SMART Scale project aims to improve safety and ease traffic congestion along the corridor,” with completion expected by May 2026.

For further details on the project’s scope, interested parties can visit the Broadview Avenue improvement project page.
