The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced continued shoulder rehabilitation work on I-95 southbound near Parham Road at mile marker 82. The project is scheduled to proceed on Saturday, May 10, and Sunday, May 11, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., subject to weather conditions.
Motorists traveling through the Richmond area are advised to use I-295 as an alternative route to avoid potential delays. This suggestion follows previous updates regarding the ongoing construction efforts.
Earlier updates noted that the work initially planned for March was postponed due to utility conflicts and unfavorable weather conditions. It was rescheduled for March 22 and March 23 with similar timing.
VDOT had previously closed the right and center lanes of I-95 southbound near Parham Road for shoulder rehabilitation in mid-March, urging drivers to use I-295 during that period as well.
For further inquiries about the project, individuals can contact VDOT’s customer service center at 800-FOR-ROAD (800-367-7623).
