Sections of Applewood and Echoway roads in Chesterfield to close for pipe project

The Virginia Department of Transportation announced on May 29 that sections of Route 2491 (Applewood Road) and Route 2465 (Echoway Road) in Chesterfield County will be closed for a pipe replacement project beginning June 2, weather permitting.

According to the department, underdrain pipes will be installed on Applewood Road between addresses 3820 and 3850, and on Echoway Road between addresses 3821 and 3801. Work is scheduled from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., with the expectation that it will be completed by June 3. The affected road sections will reopen after work hours each day.

Residents living along these routes will retain access to their properties throughout the duration of the project. Motorists are advised to follow posted detours: eastbound traffic should travel east on Echoway Road, then east on Route 2490 (Cliffwood Road), north on Route 2492 (Ballwood Road), and west on Applewood Road; westbound traffic should travel east on Applewood Road, south on Ballwood Road, west on Cliffwood Road, and west on Echoway Road.
