Section of Cherry Hill Road in Petersburg to close for one month for repairs

A section of Route 609 (Cherry Hill Road) in Petersburg will be closed for essential maintenance repairs starting at 8 a.m. on Friday, August 15. The closure is scheduled to last until 5 p.m. on Monday, September 15, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). The affected area lies between Route 40 (McKenney Highway) and Route 619 (Courthouse Road).

During the closure, motorists are advised to use designated detour routes. For westbound traffic, drivers should travel east on Route 40, turn left onto Route 619 and head north to rejoin Cherry Hill Road. Eastbound drivers should go south on Route 619, then right onto Route 40 and continue west back to Cherry Hill Road.
