The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close the western section of Route 7838, also known as Bon Secours Drive, in Chesterfield County to allow for water main installation. The closure will affect the stretch between Route 1921 (Brandermill Parkway) and Route 754 (Charter Colony Parkway). Work is scheduled from Monday, August 4 through Wednesday, August 6, with daily closures from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., weather permitting.

VDOT stated that access to St. Francis Hospital entrances will not be impacted during this period.

A detour has been established for motorists: traffic leaving Bon Secours Drive should travel north on Brandermill Parkway, east on Center Pointe Parkway (Route 6040), south on Charter Colony Parkway, and then return to Bon Secours Drive.

Questions about the project can be directed to VDOT’s customer service center at 800-FOR-ROAD (800-367-7623).
