Sands Road in Hamilton will be closed to through traffic from 6 a.m. on Monday, April 14, until 4:30 a.m. on Friday, April 18. The closure is due to the replacement of a weight-restricted bridge over a tributary of Crooked Run. This was announced by the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Local residents needing to access properties along Sands Road will be able to do so. However, vehicles will not be able to pass the bridge replacement site, which is situated between Manassas Gap Court and Taylor Road, in either direction.

Through traffic will be rerouted via Foundry Road and Taylor Road back to Sands Road. The new bridge will not have a posted weight limit.
