The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will commence structure repairs on Route 712, also known as Plank Road, in Albemarle County starting Monday, July 7. The work zone is situated between Route 813 (Starlight Road) and Thomas Dairy Lane in the North Garden area.
During the repair period, the road will be reduced to a single lane. Temporary traffic signals will be installed to manage alternating traffic flow. The project involves removing the existing concrete wall and constructing new foundations along with a replacement wall to support the structure. VDOT anticipates completing the project by August 8, weather permitting.
Motorists are advised to remain vigilant for workers and construction equipment, adhere to posted signs, and exercise caution while navigating through the area.
