The Virginia Department of Transportation announced on Mar. 11 that a section of Route 662 (Dobby Creek Road) in Fluvanna County will be closed beginning Monday, March 23, for a pipe replacement project.
The closure is expected to last through May 31, weather permitting. The department said crews will start replacing the pipe on March 30. The road will not be open to through traffic during this period, but residents and property owners within the closure area will still have access.
To help motorists navigate around the closure, northbound drivers are advised to use Route 645 (Beals Lane), continue east to Route 6 (West River Road), then travel south on Route 611 (Paynes Landing Road) before returning to Route 662. Southbound traffic should follow this detour route in reverse. Drivers are encouraged to follow posted detour signs and exercise caution near the work zone.
