A section of Route 644 (Stonebridge Road) in southern Clarke County will be closed from April 6 through May 1 for bridge repairs, according to a March 30 announcement by the Virginia Department of Transportation. Crews are scheduled to replace part of the bridge over Borden Marsh Run during this period.

The closure will affect through traffic on Route 644, and drivers are advised to use detours via nearby roads in Clarke and Warren counties. Motorists east of the closure should travel south on Route 624 (Milldale Road), west on Route 639 (Ashby Station Road), and then north on Route 658 (Rockland Road/Sugar Hill Road) to reconnect with Route 644. Those west of the closure should go south on Route 658, east on Route 639, and then north on Route 624 back to Route 644. All construction is weather dependent and schedules may change.
