As of May 1, Route 619 (Burdette Road) at the Blackwater River has reopened to traffic. The reopening follows the completion of a Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) project. The effort aimed to stabilize the slope and shoulder.

The work started on March 7, 2025. It involved the installation of more than 280 linear feet of slope foundation barrier. This barrier is designed to shield the road from future erosion and water damage.
