Starting March 7, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close a section of Route 619 (Burdette Road) at the Blackwater River. This closure is necessary for slope and shoulder stabilization work. The affected area will be between Route 629 (Line Pine Road) and Stringwood Lane, with detours provided. Access to private properties along Route 619 will remain available.

The project involves installing over 280 linear feet of slope foundation barrier to prevent erosion and water damage. Completion is expected by spring 2025, but this timeline may change due to weather or scheduling factors.

For traffic approaching Route 619 from Windsor via Route 258 south, the detour is as follows: continue on Route 258 (Walters Highway), turn right onto Route 611 (Joyners Bridge Road), then right onto Route 635 (Black Creek Road), and finally right onto Route 619 (Burdette Road).

For those heading southbound on Route 635 (Black Creek Road) towards Route 619, the detour includes continuing on Route 635, turning left onto Rout[e] [611](https://www.example.com/) (Joyners Bridge Road), left onto Route [258](https://www.example.com/) ([Walters Highway](https://www.example.com/)), and finally left onto Rout[e] [619](https://www.example.com/) ([Burdette Road](https://www.example.com/)).
