Weather permitting, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close the right lane along the westbound Route 606 (Old Ox Road) bridge over the Dulles Greenway (Route 267) on Saturday, July 19. The closure is scheduled between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to install a concrete barrier as part of the Route 606 shared-use path project.
The ramps from the westbound Dulles Greenway to westbound Route 606, and from westbound Route 606 to the eastbound Dulles Greenway will remain open. However, drivers using these ramps are advised to exercise extra caution when merging.
The Route 606 shared-use path project involves constructing a shared-use path along westbound Route 606 from Moran Road to the existing shared-use path at the eastbound Dulles Greenway off-ramp. Additionally, crosswalks, pedestrian signals, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant curb ramps will be installed on the Moran Road side of the Route 606 intersection. The project is expected to be completed by mid-2026.
Drivers are reminded to use caution in active work zones, stay alert to new traffic patterns, and limit distractions.
