Westbound Route 50 in Chantilly will have lane closures on Saturday, Oct. 4, as the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) conducts pavement restriping. The affected area stretches for about two and a half miles from Fair Ridge Drive to Lees Corner Road. The closures are scheduled between 7 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

VDOT has advised drivers to expect delays during this period and recommends using alternate routes if possible.

“Drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians are reminded to use caution when traveling in active work zones. Be alert to new traffic patterns and limit distractions,” VDOT stated.

Travelers can find updated information about traffic conditions, work zones, and incidents online at https://511.vdot.virginia.gov, through the free mobile 511Virginia app, or by calling 511 within Virginia.
