Route 3 at the Norris Bridge, which connects Lancaster and Middlesex counties, experienced a closure due to a multi-vehicle crash on Sunday evening. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews conducted an inspection and found no structural damage to the bridge. However, minor damage was reported on the pavement in the crash area.

By Monday morning, all lanes were reopened. Repairs to the pavement will be scheduled and announced later. Initially, there were major delays as the eastbound lane remained closed following the incident. Crews transitioned to a single lane closure overnight while inspections were conducted.

Motorists were directed through one-way alternating lane closures with assistance from a pilot truck during this period. Travelers were advised to seek alternate routes or delay their trips.
