The southbound Route 28 ramp to eastbound Westfields Boulevard in Chantilly will be closed for maintenance work, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation. The closure, pending favorable weather conditions, is scheduled from 9 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, to 4 a.m. on Monday, March 31. The temporary shutdown is necessary for the replacement of a light pole.
During this time, traffic will be redirected through a detour. Drivers will be instructed to take the southbound Route 28 ramp towards the westbound Westfields Boulevard, proceed via Stonecroft Boulevard or Poplar Tree Road, then utilize Newbrook Drive and Park Meadow Drive to return to eastbound Westfields Boulevard. Alternatively, drivers can make a U-turn from the westbound to eastbound Westfields Boulevard at the Stonecroft Boulevard intersection.
