The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced that two westbound Route 27 ramps in Arlington will be closed during the weekend of November 7-9 for bridge work, weather permitting.

According to VDOT, the westbound Route 27 (Washington Boulevard) ramp to southbound I-395 will be closed from 9:30 p.m. on Friday, November 7, until 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 8. During this closure, traffic will be detoured via the westbound Route 27 ramp to South Arlington Ridge Road. Drivers should stay to the right on the collector-distributor road to access southbound I-395.

The second closure affects the westbound Route 27 ramp to South Arlington Ridge Road. This ramp will be closed from 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, until 6 a.m. on Sunday, November 9. Traffic for this detour will use the westbound Route 27 ramp to southbound I-395 and then proceed along southbound Glebe Road (Route 120) back to South Arlington Ridge Road.

These closures are part of ongoing efforts to close joints and make minor repairs on several bridges along I-395.

Drivers are encouraged to follow posted detour signs and remain cautious in active work zones. Bicyclists and pedestrians are also reminded to stay alert and avoid distractions when traveling through these areas.
