All Route 17 southbound traffic is being redirected to Poplar Road, Truslow Road, and Route 1 in Stafford County following a crash that resulted in downed power lines. Significant delays are expected in the Hartwood and Falmouth areas. The reopening time for the road remains uncertain.

As of 2:04 p.m., Route 17 (Warrenton Road) continues to be closed for an extended period due to the incident. Northbound traffic is detoured to South Gateway Drive, Plantation Drive, and Litchfield Boulevard, while southbound traffic follows a detour through Poplar Road, Truslow Road, and Plantation Drive.

The Virginia Department of Transportation has confirmed that their area headquarters crews are on their way to establish a detour. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes where possible.
