A segment of Route 11, also known as Martinsburg Pike, near Winchester in Frederick County is slated to close for railroad crossing maintenance starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, April 7. The closure, which affects through traffic, will persist 24 hours a day over a five-day period. The affected area stretches between Brooke Road (Route 1322) and Park Center Drive/Cives Lane (Route 1323), just north of Winchester.

Motorists will have access to homes and businesses within the closure by approaching from the appropriate side of the railway crossing, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). A detour has been arranged for through traffic. “Drivers approaching from the south (city of Winchester) will turn right on Brooke Road, left on West Brooke Road (Route 1320) and then left on Park Center Drive to return to Route 11. Drivers approaching from the north (Frederick County) will turn left on Park Center Drive, right on West Brooke Road and then right on Brook Road to return to Route 11.”

The closure is projected to conclude on or about Friday, April 11. However, the timing for the reopening of Route 11 is contingent on weather conditions.
