The University of Richmond women’s lacrosse team defeated Davidson 16-7 at Robins Stadium in the last home game of the season on April 18. The win marks Richmond’s eighth consecutive victory in Atlantic 10 Conference play.

This result brings Richmond’s overall record to 12-3 and keeps them undefeated in conference games at 8-0. Davidson now stands at 11-4 overall and holds a conference record of 5-3.

Alexis Morton led Richmond with a standout performance, scoring five goals and providing five assists, achieving a perfect shooting percentage. Meghan Rode contributed three goals and two assists, while Bridget Lonsinger added two goals and three assists. Other scorers for the Spiders included Juliana Stanley, Charlotte Edwards, Emma Kroneberger, Rileigh Meyer, Stella Axe, and Lindsey Wright—who netted her first goal of the season. Anya Wardle also recorded an assist.

Nine different players collected ground balls during the game, with Rileigh Meyer leading by securing five draw controls. In goalkeeping duties, Abby Francioli earned the win with four saves over more than half an hour of playtime. Ally Gouveia also made four saves during her time in goal, while Maggie Mullen saw action as well.

Richmond led statistically throughout the match: they had an eight-save advantage over Davidson (8-0), won more draw controls (15-9), succeeded on clears (16-for-19), picked up more ground balls (9-8), and converted four out of five free-position shots.

The Spiders established control early by scoring twelve unanswered goals in the first half for a commanding lead. While Davidson managed to cut into that margin after halftime with several consecutive scores, Richmond maintained their edge through consistent offensive output until securing victory.

Looking ahead, Richmond will conclude its regular season with an away game against Duquesne on April 25.
