Richmond track and field finishes sixth at Atlantic 10 Championships with three gold medals

Richmond track and field finished sixth at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships at George Mason Stadium on May 3, earning six podium finishes. The team collected three gold medals during the event.

The results highlight strong performances by several athletes. Brooke Reif won gold in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:25.60, while Hallie Muniz took silver in the same event with a time of 4:27.47. Caroline Donohoe captured gold in the 800 meters, finishing in 2:10.12.

Muniz also secured another silver medal in the 5,000 meters with a time of 16:31.75. The relay teams contributed to Richmond’s success as well; Donohoe, Molly Flanagan, Phoebe Rubio, and Reif claimed silver in the 4×800 meter relay with a season-best time of 8:47.90, while Morgan Elliott, Kayla Buback, Ashley Bolesh, and Nina Lavelle earned bronze in the 4×400 meter relay by finishing at 3:47.22.

Other notable performances included Rubio placing fourth in the 1,500 meters (4:29.76), Flanagan finishing sixth in the 800 meters (2:13.20), Sydney Phillips taking sixth place in triple jump (11.94 meters), and personal bests from Mia Paolino (10:44.95) and Addie Cohen (11:01.90) in the steeplechase events.

The final standings for this year’s championship placed Dayton first with 153 points followed by Duquesne (109 points), VCU (96.5 points), Rhode Island (84.66 points), George Mason (79 points), Richmond (77 points), La Salle (47 points) among others.

Looking ahead to postseason competition, Richmond will participate next at the NCAA East Regional scheduled for May 27-30.
