The University of Richmond men’s tennis team will find out its postseason status on April 27 as the NCAA Division I Men’s Tennis Championship field is revealed during a selection show at 4 p.m. on NCAA.com.

The announcement is significant for the program, which recently completed a strong spring season and aims to secure a spot in the national tournament. The team will gather in Spider Hall to watch the live stream, with doors opening at 3:30 p.m. for supporters.

The championship consists of a 64-team, single-elimination format that includes 27 automatic qualifiers from conference champions and 37 at-large selections. The first and second rounds are scheduled for May 1-2 across regional sites nationwide, with four teams competing at each location.

Teams advancing past regionals will move on to super regionals held May 8 or 9. The final eight teams will compete in Athens, Georgia, at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex beginning May 14 with quarterfinals, followed by semifinals on May 16 and the national championship match on May 17.

Richmond enters this process after winning an Atlantic 10 Championship title—their first conference title since 2006—marking a historic achievement for the program. Fans are invited to join players and staff in Spider Hall for a watch party that begins at 4 p.m., where light refreshments will be provided as Richmond awaits its postseason destination.
