The University of Richmond men’s lacrosse team was recognized on Apr. 28 as two players, Nate Murphy and Aidan O’Neil, earned Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honors following a 19–10 victory over High Point.

The recognition comes as Richmond secured the outright Atlantic 10 regular-season title and the top seed in the conference championship for a second straight year. The team set a new program record with its twelfth regular season win.

Murphy contributed defensively by matching his career high with three caused turnovers and also scored his first career goal, assisted by goalie Connor Knight. O’Neil led offensively with five goals and two assists, marking his second game this season with five goals and his ninth game with at least five points.

With these achievements, Richmond prepares to enter postseason play as they host fourth-seeded UMass in the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Men’s Lacrosse Championship at Robins Stadium on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.

The team’s recent performance highlights both individual contributions and collective success as they move into tournament competition.
