The University of Richmond men’s lacrosse team defeated High Point, 19–10, on Apr. 24 to complete an undefeated Atlantic 10 conference season and secure the regular-season title for the second consecutive year.
This victory marks only the third time in program history that Richmond has finished a conference season unbeaten, with previous perfect records in 2015 and 2025. The team also set a new single-season record with its twelfth regular-season win.
After an even first quarter that ended tied at four goals each, Richmond pulled ahead by outscoring High Point by nine goals over the final three quarters. Daniel Picart opened scoring for Richmond, while Lucas Littlejohn contributed two consecutive goals to tie the game before Aidan O’Neil leveled it again late in the first period. The Spiders then responded to a brief deficit early in the second quarter with five unanswered goals, including scores from Joe Sheridan and O’Neil.
Richmond maintained momentum through the second half as Gavin Creo, Cole Hayden, Jack Ricciardi, and Littlejohn all found the net during a dominant third quarter. In defense, Nate Murphy led with three caused turnovers while goalkeeper Connor Knight made ten saves and provided an assist. Murphy capped off scoring late in the fourth quarter with his first career goal on a long-range shot assisted by Knight.
O’Neil led all scorers with five goals and one assist—his second five-goal game of the season—while Littlejohn and Creo each tallied four goals and one assist apiece. Picart notched four points including a career-high three assists.
With this result, Richmond extended its Atlantic 10 winning streak to twelve games and improved its all-time conference record to nineteen wins against two losses—a win rate exceeding ninety percent. The Spiders will next face UMass in Thursday’s Atlantic 10 Championship semifinals at Robins Stadium.
