William & Mary track and field finished its regular season on May 3 with several standout performances at the Duke Twilight meet. The event was highlighted by freshman Kennedy Reynolds setting a new school record in the women’s 400-meter hurdles, clocking a personal-best time of 59.26 seconds. This performance not only broke the existing program record but also marked Reynolds as the first athlete in William & Mary history to run under one minute in this event.
The meet also saw strong results from other Tribe athletes. Freshman Amelia Bawcombe achieved a personal best in the women’s discus with a throw of 45.17 meters, which moved her to fifth place on William & Mary’s all-time performers list for that event.
In the women’s javelin, Elaina Perkins placed fifth with a throw of 41.63 meters, while senior Kalli Knott cleared four meters in the pole vault to finish sixth overall. Knott’s mark ties for fifth-best in school history and comes just one week after she set her personal best at another competition.
Freshman Finn Middleton recorded personal-best times in both the men’s 110-meter hurdles and 100-meter dash during the meet. Middleton’s times placed him sixth and ninth respectively on William & Mary’s all-time lists for those events.
With these results, William & Mary concluded its regular season with momentum heading into postseason competitions, including multiple program records and top-10 performances by several athletes.
Looking ahead, William & Mary is scheduled to compete next at the Colonial Athletic Association Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 15-16.
