Restoration News has reported that the slate of Virginia Democrats’ candidates for the 2025 House elections includes individuals embroiled in personal scandals and holding radical views. The outlet identified a swinger, a vandal, and an anti-American, anti-police school board member among the nominees.

According to Restoration News, Democratic officials have prioritized assembling a complete ticket over ensuring candidate quality in Virginia’s upcoming House races. The media outlet highlighted several controversial nominees, including a swinger and a vandal, as well as an anti-police, pro-Palestinian school board member. It argues that these choices may compromise electoral preparedness and damage the party’s credibility while providing political ammunition for Republicans.

Yvonne Rorrer, running as a Democrat in the 47th District, publicly disclosed in mid-May that she and her husband are “ethically non-monogamous” swingers after 22 years of marriage. She chose “radical honesty” to preempt potential opposition attacks. Media coverage suggests Rorrer announced this consensual arrangement to control her narrative rather than allow opponents to exploit it. She reportedly filed for bankruptcy and had outstanding debt judgments as recently as 2021.

Nicole Cole, who is running in the 66th District, has declined to recite the Pledge of Allegiance at school board meetings. She frequently wears a Palestinian keffiyeh and has criticized local law enforcement for engaging in “terror,” according to Restoration News and local reports. Cole has publicly supported pro-Palestinian causes and anti-gun policies and faces a wrongful-termination lawsuit related to her tenure as a school board member. Additionally, records indicate she had a $13,040 Pennsylvania tax lien in 2007.

Restoration News is described as a conservative-leaning media outlet that scrutinizes political developments and candidate qualifications by investigating personal conduct, financial standing, and ideological leanings of public figures. It emphasizes transparency and accountability in elections while framing its reporting within a broader commitment to public integrity and civic values.
