Representative John McGuire said on May 15 that the U.S. House of Representatives has passed the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act for 2027.
The act is intended to support members of the military and veterans by providing funding for health care programs, mental health research, and resources necessary for national defense.
McGuire stated, “We would not have a country without our brave men and women in uniform. The Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2027 ensures our military is resilient and its servicemembers have the resources they needed to remain strong and healthy. As a Navy SEAL veteran, I know firsthand how important this is. By funding veterans’ health care programs, prioritizing research for mental health programs, and giving the military the money it needs to protect our country, we are proving a commitment to the America-First agenda. Our military, it’s heroes, and their families will remain a priority.”
The passage of this appropriations act marks an effort by lawmakers to address ongoing needs within both active duty service branches as well as among veterans. The bill focuses on strengthening services related to healthcare access for veterans while also allocating funds toward construction projects that support military readiness.
As Congress moves forward with budgetary decisions impacting national security infrastructure and veteran services in coming years, attention will likely continue on ensuring these priorities receive adequate support.
