Rappahannock County announced on May 18 that it is seeking applicants for two employment positions: Librarian – Youth Service and Deputy Clerk II – Clerk of the Circuit Court. The county stated that these positions will remain open until filled and emphasized its status as an equal opportunity employer.

The announcement highlights opportunities for individuals interested in public service roles within the county. These positions may appeal to those looking to work in local government or library services.

In recent years, Rappahannock County has seen changes in its educational landscape. Rappahannock County Public Schools District enrolled 774 students during the 2023-24 school year, making it the only school district in the county, according to the Virginia Department of Education. Of the two schools in the district, Rappahannock County Elementary School had the highest enrollment with 466 students during that same period.

Demographic data from local schools show that white students represented the largest ethnic group with 635 students, or about 82% of total enrollment, followed by Hispanic students at approximately 10.5%. Overall student numbers increased by more than five percent compared to the previous year’s total of 736 students, according to the Virginia Department of Education. Enrollment figures also indicate that tenth grade had the largest class size at nearly ten percent of all students enrolled.

Those interested in applying for either position are encouraged to submit their applications promptly as hiring will continue until both roles are filled.
