Radford University announced on Apr. 23 that three members of its women’s golf team received postseason honors following the conclusion of the 2026 Big South Championship.

These awards recognize the achievements of Macy Johnson, Mckenzie Weddle, and Shea Smith during the 2025-26 season. Such recognition highlights both academic and athletic excellence among student-athletes in collegiate sports.

Macy Johnson was named Big South Scholar-Athlete of the Year for a second consecutive season and earned a spot on the all-academic list again. Johnson is set to graduate early this spring with a perfect 4.0 GPA in Economics and a minor in Accounting, and she plans to pursue her MBA next year. She has been selected to Radford’s Dean’s List every semester and serves as president of Beta Gamma Sigma, described as “a highly respect business fraternity.”

Mckenzie Weddle was named to the Second Team All-Conference after an impressive season that included winning an individual championship at the Elon Invitational. She was also recognized as Big South Golfer of the Week for her performance there, finished as Radford’s top placer in three tournaments during regular play, and placed in the top ten individually at the conference tournament.

Shea Smith received Honorable Mention All-Conference honors for her first all-conference award. Smith posted Radford’s third-best scoring average this season, led team efforts at two tournaments, consistently finished within their top three golfers, and tied a program record with a five-under round at Edisto Island Invitational.
