The Radford men’s golf team finished its regular season play at the Wofford Invitational, which concluded this week. Louie Stott and Will Giaquinto led the Highlanders during the tournament held in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

The tournament marked the final event before postseason competition for Radford. Strong performances from Stott and Giaquinto highlighted the team’s efforts as they placed eighth out of thirteen teams in a field of eighty-eight golfers.

Stott was Radford’s top performer for a second consecutive tournament. He shot three-under par on the front nine in his first round and finished one-under for that day. Despite facing challenges on certain holes, Stott ended up thirty-fifth among individual golfers with scores of 70-77-72 for a total of 219 (+6). Giaquinto rebounded from his previous outing to finish thirty-eighth overall, recording consistent birdies throughout all rounds and tying for a team-best eleven birdies over three days.

Senior Kieran McCarthy also contributed to the team’s showing, finishing forty-sixth after notable stretches including an eagle on hole seventeen during his first round. Other contributors included Benson Blevins (fifty-eighth) and Tate Corbett (sixty-sixth). The event took place at Country Club of Spartanburg, which is a par seventy-two course measuring 6,434 yards.

The invitational featured thirteen teams: USCA, USF, Western Carolina, Winthrop, Wofford, High Point, Mercer, Radford, Longwood, USC Upstate, Samford, Francis Marion and Providence.

Looking ahead to postseason play, Radford will compete at the Big South Championship at Fripp Island Creek in South Carolina beginning April 26 with stroke play continuing through April 28. If they advance into the top four teams after stroke play rounds they will move on to match play scheduled for April 29.
