Purcellville Road closure planned for late-May due to drainage work

Weather permitting, Purcellville Road (Route 611) will undergo a series of closures for drainage pipe replacement. The Virginia Department of Transportation announced that the road will be continuously closed to through traffic from 9 a.m. on Monday, May 19, until 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20. Following this, there will be daytime closures on Wednesday, May 21; Thursday, May 22; Tuesday, May 27; Wednesday, May 28; and Thursday, May 29.

The closure schedule is as follows: from 9 a.m. on Monday, May 19 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20; from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both Wednesday, May 21 and Thursday, May 22; from noon to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27; and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both Wednesday, May 28 and Thursday, May 29.

Access will be available for those needing to reach properties along Purcellville Road but they will not be able to pass beyond the pipe replacement area located between the properties at addresses number “16195” and “16287” Purcellville Road in either direction.

Through traffic will be rerouted via Allder School Road (Route “711”), Hillsboro Road (Route “690”), and Route “9” back to Purcellville Road.
