Prince William County announced on May 1 a series of community events scheduled throughout the month of May, offering residents a variety of programs and activities for all ages.

The county’s announcement highlights opportunities for families to enjoy outdoor entertainment, learn about local history, and participate in community gatherings. These events are designed to encourage residents to engage with their neighbors and explore different parts of the county.

Among the featured activities is the Touch-A-Truck event at Veterans Memorial Park on Saturday, May 2. This free event allows children to interact with vehicles such as fire trucks and police cars while meeting first responders. Also on May 2, a Historic Preservation Month Tour will take participants by bus to several preservation sites; lunch is included with ticket purchase and pre-registration is required.

On Friday, May 8, Ben Lomond Regional Park will host a free drive-in movie night featuring ‘Zootopia 2.’ Families can bring lawn chairs or stay in their vehicles for this evening event. The Fridays at 5 outdoor concert series returns on Friday, May 15 at Sean T. Connaughton Plaza in Woodbridge with live music from Highway Legends Band.

Other scheduled activities include Ben Lomond Day on Saturday, May 16 at Ben Lomond Historic Site in Manassas where visitors can experience historical talks and demonstrations. A community yard sale will also be held that day at Pat White Center at Ben Lomond; advance registration is required for sellers. Additionally, there will be a Golden Hour Guided Hike along Neabsco Creek Boardwalk that evening from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

The full schedule aims to provide diverse experiences ranging from cultural education to recreation across Prince William County during the month of May.
